|Rescue Me ID: 16-09-13-00089Ringo Starr (male)|
This sweet boy was dumped at my house approximately 3 months ago. The breed I listed is a guess. He is very unique looking, but my vet said it's probably close, maybe some type of shepherd also. He became very ill after I had him and it was determined he probably had not been kept current on his vaccines. After nearly $1000.00, Ringo is in tip-to play shape, current on his vaccines, free of the fleas and ticks he was covered in when I got him, and up to weight. I am a trainer and he is thorough on his basics. I had thought of contacting the veterans association because he would make a fantastic companion dog, but I cannot certify him because he has some male dog issues. He does currently live in my home with three other males and does great with proper guidance. It is only dominant males he had some issues with. I don't know about cats, as I don't have any. Could probably get that tested upon request. I have socialized him in all other areas, including children of all ages, and he is great. His only other two 'issues' is separation anxiety (mild), and he is terrified of storms. I have put him through public access testing and those are the only issues apparent, neither of them extreme. I do need to rehome him as quickly as possible as I have other fosters waiting to come in. He's such a loving, sweet, smart dog, I thought about keeping him but that puts too many males in my house. I am asking the rehoming fee to help with the vet bills and the training I put into him. Again, Ringo would make a phenomenal companion dog. I estimate his age between 6-8 years old, but he runs and jumps like he's 1. Photos are available for serious inquiries. (Less)

Basenji Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Basenji is a playful, charming, energetic breed. They make excellent family pets but do best with older children. Basenjis can live in an apartment but need lots of daily exercise and long walks. A Basenji likes to chew and should be given toys and attention or it will get into trouble. Basenjis do not do well with cats and other pets beside dogs.
